Our club is thrilled to have partnered with the Citrus Heights PD to purchase and deliver cases of food today to the Sunrise Christian Food Ministry, benefiting families in Citrus Heights living with food insecurity during the pandemic.And a huge thank you to the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation for providing our club with a grant to fund this project and our members who donated to match the grant. In total we were able to provide over $1000 worth of food to them.

On October 16, the Kiwanis Clubs of Citrus Heights and Orangevale-Fair Oaks held a joint officer installation at the home of Tom Steadman. Emcee for the evening was Ray Robinson, Municipal Contract Supervisor at Republic Services, one of our four corporate sponsors. Introducing the presenters of awards and recognition was our new Division 44 Lt Governor Ashley Stroke. Tom presented to Bill Hooper the George F. Hixon Diamond Level Three award. Bill has been a member of Citrus Heights Kiwanis for 49 of the club’s 54 years. He has been President four times, President of the Board of Kiwanis Family House, and has held Board and officer positions at all levels of Kiwanis. Jim Putnam then presented to Tom the Tablet of Honor. In addition to being a charter member of the OVFO club, Tom was a member of Key Club and has been a member of the Citrus Heights Club since 2017, most recently serving as Co-President. In Citrus Heights, the Co-Presidents for 2026-27 will be Megan Smith-Fajardo and Katie Escajeda. Does that name sound familiar. . .? In Orangevale-Fair Oaks, the President of the club will be Alexandra Richards, succeeding David Houghton. Alex’s husband Brian will be Vice-President of that club.
